Registration & Courses
The 14th World Congress on Anaerobic Digestion offered registration for the main congress and a series of specialized pre-congress courses in Viña del Mar, Chile.
Congress Registration
Attendees registered to participate in the full scientific program, technical visits, and social events.
What Registration Included
Registration provided access to the scientific program spanning plenaries, keynotes, workshops, and the review process. Optional technical visits were available at no additional cost, and an accompanying persons program was offered alongside social events.
Technical Visits
Free-of-charge technical visits were announced as available for registration on October 23, 2015. These visits complemented the congress program with practical, on-site exposure to anaerobic digestion facilities and related infrastructure.
The registration process for the AD14 World Congress was designed to provide attendees with comprehensive access to the full breadth of anaerobic digestion science and networking. By securing a place at the congress, participants gained entry to the entire scientific program, including plenary sessions, keynote addresses, specialized workshops, and the formal review process for oral and poster presentations. Registration also covered participation in technical visits that offered firsthand exposure to operational facilities, as well as social events that fostered collaboration among researchers, industry professionals, and students. The accompanying persons program ensured that all guests could enjoy the Viña del Mar experience while attendees engaged with the latest advances in anaerobic digestion.
Beyond the main congress, the organizers offered a series of specialized pre-congress courses for those seeking deeper technical knowledge in targeted areas of the field. These courses addressed key topics such as instrumentation and control, microbial ecology, pre-treatment and operation strategies, modelling and automation, and the application of anaerobic digestion to climate change challenges. Each course was led by experts and provided an intensive learning environment for participants to explore hot topics like temperature specialization, reuse of digestate, and emerging trends in the sector. The combination of the main congress registration and the optional courses allowed attendees to tailor their experience to their specific professional interests and research goals.
Specialized Courses
Four pre-congress courses covered advanced topics in anaerobic digestion technology and research.
Advances in Anaerobic Digestion
Focused on pre-treatment techniques and operational strategies to enhance anaerobic digestion performance across diverse feedstocks and conditions.
Instrumentation, Modelling, Control & Automation
Covered modern approaches to monitoring, mathematical modelling, process control, and automation in anaerobic digestion systems.
Microbial Ecology of Anaerobic Digestion
Explored microbial community dynamics with a particular emphasis on low-temperature anaerobic digestion environments.
Reuse, Climate Change & Anaerobic Digestion
Addressed the role of anaerobic digestion in resource reuse strategies and climate change mitigation efforts.
Course Registration
Specialized courses were offered alongside the main congress. Attendees could register for courses through the congress registration form. For full course details, visit the Courses page.
Key Dates
Important deadlines for paper submission, abstracts, and early registration were published during the congress cycle.
Submission & Registration Deadlines
Authors submitted papers and abstracts according to the published timeline. Early registration offered reduced fees. For detailed deadline information, refer to the Deadlines page and the Submit Paper page for author guidelines.
